AKA: The continuation of the Whedonverses in comics panel.
Tom Lenk asked if Andrew's sexuality has been addressed in the comics yet. Scott Allie said that they weren't sure how to approach it because they didn't want to introduce a new character just to be Andrew's boyfriend. Oh. Okay.
"I choose Spike," said Tom.
Uproarious approval from the audience. Because really? Who wouldn't?

I met him several years ago at the one and only actor event I ever went to. He (and Danny Strong) were so very sweet to the fans.
Oh wait.
Do post more tidbits if you hear anything interesting.

However, anybody who can pwn Allie has my vote!

Heh! Mine too. There's supposed to be a two-issue arc written by Jane E and Drew Greenberg coming up which features some OCs, and this new gay male character may be one of them. If so, though, I suspect he won't stick around after the arc, so Dark Horse can tick that box but not commit themselves too much.
Word!
Last year at another panel, he told us there would be a new gay male character in Season 9, but if he has appeared anywhere it's been on the downlow. The implication was that the new paragon would be less of a joke, but who knows?
j/k :-)
Though, to be fair, nobody (even Allie) had the nerve to pretend otherwise.
Tom has excellent comic timing, which sort of makes Allie pale in comparison. Go Tom!
