Hat Trick

Congratulations to my many talented friends for getting the recognition they so richly deserve at Round 23 of the Sunnydale Memorial Fanfiction Awards. brutti_ma_buoni even nabbed the "Best Writer" award! Happy Dance! snickfic and dampersnspoons were among the winners, as was my new friend thepuddinhead! She is brand-new to LJ, though you can find her work on some of the Spuffy archives. It may take her a bit to get her "LJ-legs", but I know y'all will make this talented writer feel welcome. There are some equally deserving writers and stories who were nominated but ended up without any pretties and I'd like to take this opportunity to pet them. *pets* It's a crap shoot, darlings.

I managed a hat trick, in that I received three runner-up awards, one for each story nominated! I was especially pleased to share the "TV Crossover" 2nd place slot with snickfic, whose story, The Very Small Girl and the Monster, is not only very good, but whose title matches mine perfectly! Plus both stories are about Sunnydale denizens in the future. In space! *cue Doctor Who theme song*

You can read the stories by clicking on the plaque above, or find 'em at my AO3 page.

In other news, I have Dreamwidth invite codes galore. Come one, come all! Also, please allow me to pimp The matrithon, the Pan-Fandom Women 40 And Over Ficathon. I'm always in the market for Joyce, Darla, Drusilla, and Illyria fic. Aren't you?

Thanks! I wish I could think of more over-40 women in the Jossverse. I must be leaving somebody out. (Lilah is in her 30s, I'm guessing.)

There's also Maggie Walsh. And Sheila Rosenberg, I suppose, although we saw so little of her I'm not really inclined to count her.

Thank you for the congrats, and congrats to you! I noticed we shared the crossover runner-up spot, but I hadn't noticed the similarity in titles until you mentioned it. Yay us. *g*

Yes! Maggie Walsh is definitely one of the gals. There's Joyce's friend, Pat to go with Sheila Rosenberg, Miss Bartlett, and Gwendolyn Post as one-ep ladies. Sheila probably gets more fic attention because she's talked about a lot, even if we only see her once. Oh! Since it's pan-fandom, Adele DeWitt from Dollhouse would be prime material! And I do mean prime! *nudge, nudge, wink, wink*

Hee! I think our fics look very well together!

Congratulations on the awards.

Thanks, sweetie! It's weird to see what gets nommed. I think people are discovering some of the old stuff on AO3, which is a bit easier to navigate than LJ. I'm sort of queasy about the early stuff, but what the heck. I'll take whatever pats on the head I can get. *iz shameless*

You're forgetting Lorne's mother... *g*

Also, some minor vamps, like Elizabeth. Glory. Um... Spike's mother actually could be interesting. Mesektet, maybe? The Guardian. They're all pretty minor, Glory excepted. Does Dawn count? She doesn't to me, as her humanity is so new.

Congrats to you too! You have such *range*, daaarling!

Now I want Lorne's mother fic! You're just the person to do it, you know! Speaking of having range... *points*

Congrats on the well-deserved awards!

Thanks so much, sweetie! Are you enjoying your break?

Congrats to you! And for three different fics, you prolific woman you!
May. 27th, 2011 10:13 pm (UTC)
Thanks! They are all very short fics, so it's not as impressive as all that. Also, a couple of them are from very early in my fic-writing career, so I'd probably do them differently now. Still! Pretty!

Congrats! I really enjoyed those fics; nice to see I wasn't the only one!

And I'll have to check out the ficathon. there isn't enough Joyce fic!

Thanks, sweetie! I'm always sort of surprised when my wide-ranging silliness strikes a chord with anybody else, so I know what you mean!

Never enough Joyce! I do what I can...
